FAQs

How much does it cost to join Claymore Racing?

We offer a variety of syndicates at different price points to suit everyone! Our smallest shares in a Claymore Racing horse start at £59. This one-time payment covers all expenses associated with the syndicate term, which lasts 12 months. We also have percentage shares, which start at 1% for full ownership. Upon payment of any shares, owners will be granted access to all the benefits that come with being an owner of a Claymore Racing horse, including a Racing Manager profile.

Will I receive a share of the prize money if my horse wins?

Upon the completion of each syndicate term, the syndicate members will receive 100% of the net prize money earned during the term. The net prize money refers to the total amount paid to the business by Weatherbys. The distributed amount will be added to the members’ account balance. In the event that the prize money exceeds £200,000, the distribution will take place within a reasonable timeframe after the company receives the payment. For our full-percentage syndicates, any prize money will be distributed on a quarterly basis.

Can I gift a share in a Claymore Racing horse?

Absolutely! We believe that a share in a Claymore Racing horse makes an excellent gift. When gifting a share, you will be asked to provide the recipient’s details and decide whether you would like the gift voucher to be delivered directly to them or sent to yourself.

What are the benefits that come with getting involved in a Claymore Racing syndicate?

Regular video, written and spoken updates from the trainer, email newsletters, stable visits to see your horse on the gallops and tour the training yards, member-only video calls and Q&As with trainers and jockeys, raceday ticket ballots, and pre- and post-race write-ups by our esteemed bloodstock agent of his thoughts on your horse’s performances and potential plans for the future.

What happens at the end of the syndicate term?

Upon the conclusion of the term (or just beforehand), members of the syndicate will be required to renew their membership if they would like to remain in the syndicate. The renewal fee will be lower than the original fee since it will exclude the initial cost of acquiring the horse. However, for our syndicates with less owners (full percentage shares), purchasing your share gives you full ownership for the horse’s career and further (if the mares are to go into breeding after they are retired from racing).
