Blow The Budget 3rd On Claymore Debut!

On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, Blow The Budget made her debut for Claymore Racing at Kelso! She finished a brilliant 3rd, outperforming her odds of 12/1. She travelled really gamely before running out of steam, turning for home, and held on to be a gallant 3rd, 3/4L behind 2nd in tough conditions! The winner, Wyenot, ran a really strong race and proved to be an above-average filly, having won at Kelso carrying a 7-pound penalty following her win on October 26 at Ludlow, where she beat a two-time bumper winner and subsequent hurdle winner. This was the first run for Blow The Budget (Tara) after 6 months off the racecourse, and we couldn't be happier with her performance and attitude towards racing in tough conditions. Kelso only passed their inspection an hour before Tara ran, following snow and frost the night before. However, this didn't seem to bother her, and it shows that she is a tough filly who should improve going forward!

Lucinda Russell: β€œIt is her first run back after a while, and I am delighted with her. I think she will improve for it, and she looks like a really nice filly. I would expect her to go very, very close the next time.”
